Poppaloopa

Poppaloopa was the first record under my own name. I wrote most of it and produced it at home, then Keith “KC” Cohen mixed it at Larrabee West and Chris Bellman mastered it at Bernie Grundman. Amherst Records released it in June 2000.

It had one good summer. “Hottie Boombalottie” got radio play in a few markets, the video made the top 10 on The Box, and I did a handful of radio-station summer shows with two dancers and a DJ. There wasn’t much promotion behind it after that, and it settled into the archive, which is where it is now.
