Lyrics
I passed a girl on the way to work one day
To my surprise I didn't know what to say
I looked at her, she looked at me
I turned around and said I wanna be...
Close to you
Close to you
So we went out on a date that night
And when I drove her home I kissed her cheek real light
Well she turned to me, she grabbed my head
She kissed me on the lips instead
chorus
I write things down to keep them in my head
But the things you like I memorize instead
Like Jack be nimble, Jack be quick
Jack jumped over his candlestick to be...
chorus
School locker combination and a candy gram
Best friends singin' JT's Handy Man
The kind of memories that make you smile
Every once in a while I recollect me a big pile
But the one that always floats up top
The flip flop of my world on the day you stopped
You put a hole in everything I do
So now I need to get close to you
I wrote this song just so you could see
That what I want is you to be with me
But if that's not fair, then I don't care
I'll just stare and dream about when I was...
chorus
