Get ’Em Up

My first single, released in 1998 on my own label, KEFSKI Music, under the name D’Kaffe. It was a promotional CD (“For Demonstration Only, Not For Sale”) with two pop/hip-hop songs: “Get ’Em Up” and “Jump In, Jump On It,” both of which were inspired by and co-written with some friends I worked with at the time. There were also two unlisted bonus-beat tracks for the DJs. I produced, engineered and mixed it at Noiseplus Studios in Los Angeles, and Howie T. did the extended remix.

That November, “Get ’Em Up” was used in the Baywatch episode “Hot Summer Night.” “Jump In, Jump On It” came back two years later, reworked, as “Jump On It” on Poppaloopa.
